If we don’t invest in ourselves then how can we invest in others? If we don’t commit to ourselves then how can we commit to anything in our life? What happens when we are not committed to something? We must begin with us, trust us and ignite the positive energy from us. Deep down in the very depths of us is a whole range of underlying beliefs. These are beliefs we have about ourselves. It may be that we need to reframe our perspective and see the task in a whole new way to align with it.
Differences between “trying” and “doing” are the intention and relief of your energy. You need to shift from thinking to doing. Trying is a sense of possibility; but it may not make a difference or change. The high level of intending, putting an idea into your body is a form of “commitment”. Commitment is the passion to your value, the sound of your energy as well as the possibility or inspiration generated by from your value. Sometimes, the “Right Action” or commitment are caused by urgent or fear. The most important question is “what’s the commitment relevant to me?” What’s your UAC and what “form” you commit to?
UAC: Underlying Automatic Commitment is coming from shifting underlying believe. The desired of being understood is a big part of learning process. The easier way to look at your commitment is to know what you are struggling, fears and priority lists. If I can make a conscious choice, it will make a commitment. The awareness reflects UAC and knows the situation, which is the beginning with processes. Making a deep choice implies the value you want to maintain. What’re the areas that you are trying to get results? What is the most fear for? Your answers will reflect those beliefs that we have about ourselves. Overtime this belief sits in your subconscious, like a conductor, orchestrating your life. Once you started committing to this belief, a long time ago, you built a world around you that confirmed this belief. You convince yourself that you just haven’t found the right project yet that is best for you.
Throughout this process you have been slowly corroding your self-esteem, your self-respect and your self-love. You are at a point were even you don’t believe in yourself anymore. Each step towards denial is a further blow to your self. It is again at this point that you can either choose uncertainty or certainty. Certainty in that you are certain doing the same thing over again will destroy you or uncertainty where you move to a time in your life where you begin to get to know yourself more. You move to a time in your life where you commit to learning more about yourself and finding out what is brilliant about you. You commit to discovering what’s unique and special about you. You commit to being successful. You commit to feeling fantastic. You commit to walking tall and no longer comparing yourself with others. You commit to feeling alive. Feel your energy shift. You need a stronger underlying belief.
Go back to your plan, look at your vision, see the vision of where you are going. Check in to see if your actions are aligned with your plan. Actions that are in alignment are a big indication that your commitment is aligned with where you want to go. Mandela found choices to make; choices that showed a commitment to freedom, to love, to independence and to moving forward.
• Trying + Doubt = Failure
• Commitment + Action = Success
Everyone experiences doubt. Everyone is afraid of failure. Committing to success and fundamentally to you is the very first feeling of success. It will feel wonderful if you have the right support team, who you will fully trust, to support your dream. Following through on commitments is powerful. It builds confidence. The point is that by identifying their belief and what they are committed to, they have the power to change. The choice is in their hands. They are no longer living as a victim of life, but consciously choosing their commitments.
For the coach this is an opportunity to explain the importance of having a vision, goals to work towards and to really supporting the client in being aware of their beliefs. A coach’s role is not to determine what beliefs are best for their client but rather the importance of aligning the client’s beliefs with their pathway forward.
Structures: One way to support your client is to help them see if their actions are aligned with their path forward. If their actions are aligned with their goals, then they are committed. One way of creating this alignment is to put in place a structure. If your client is committed to their journey then they will put in place a structure to make the time available. As a coach it is a great moment of observation when you notice that you are trying to put in place structures for your client to make their goal achievable.
